Ms. Abicht has worked as a social worker within inpatient and partial hospitalization programming with children and adolescents, and intensive outpatient programming with adults. She has experience in DBT group facilitation, psycho-education, early childhood intervention, and interdisciplinary case management. Ms. Abicht fosters a client-centered therapeutic environment to facilitate a safe space to explore difficult issues and build upon clients’ inherent strengths. She has provided therapeutic care to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Ms. Abicht utilizes evidenced-based theoretical orientations such as the Strengths-Based Model of Counseling and Resiliency, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Feminist Therapy. Her special areas of interest include: depression, anxiety, adjustment, parent-child relationships, grief and loss, self-injurious behaviors, and suicidal ideation, coping skills, and psycho-education. Ms. Abicht sees clients at the Plymouth office.
